Preventive counselling is defined to mean generally a three
to six month follow-up and review period with a client,
once the remedial counselling has been completed. This process
will involve ongoing communication with the client to reinforce
the principles of sound personal financial management and
to offer assistance. The objective of preventive counselling
is to prevent reoccurrence of remedial counselling and to
assist the client in achieving long term financial stability.
Counselling services will be completed at the end of
the preventive services period or when the financial counsellor
concludes that SISIP FS are unable to further assist a
client.
