SISIP Long Term Disability - Announcement
SISIP Financial Services (SISIP FS) has been granted approval by Treasury Board of Canada (TBC) for changes to the SISIP LTD plan; these will align SISIP benefits with the changes announced in October 2011, by the Minister of Veteran's Affairs under their Earnings Loss Benefits program. As such, the SISIP LTD plan increases the minimum gross monthly benefit to 75% of the salary of a basic Corporal, which is currently $4,476/month. In addition the minimum benefit for Veterans who released as part-time reservists (Primary Class A and Short Term Class B Reserve Service) would have their benefits increase to 75% of the “deemed salary” of $2700/month.
SISIP FS, through Manulife Financial will adjust “all” benefit payments for eligible recipients under the SISIP LTD Plan, retroactive to October 03, 2011.
