SISIP Long Term Disability - Announcement
SISIP Financial Services (SISIP FS), is currently seeking approval for changes to the SISIP LTD plan, effective October 3, 2011, to align SISIP benefits with the changes recently announced by the Minister of Veteran's Affairs under their Earnings Loss Benefits program. The intention is to have the SISIP LTD plan increase the minimum gross monthly benefit to 75% of the salary of a basic Corporal; which is currently $4,476/month. In addition the minimum benefit for Veterans who released as part-time reservists (Primary Class A and Short Term Class B Reserve Service) would have their benefits increase to 75% of the “deemed salary” of $2700/month.
Subject to final approval, SISIP FS through Manulife Financial will adjust “all” benefit payments for eligible recipients, under the SISIP LTD Plan, retroactive to October 03, 2011.
Further information will be made available once final approval is received.
